These Terms govern the use of the platform and the distance contract for arranging international parcel and luggage shipments through third-party carriers (indicatively DHL Express, FedEx).

2. Definitions

“CourierApp”: the platform provider acting as an intermediary/reseller of shipping services, arranging shipments through third-party Carriers.
“User”: any visitor or registered user of the platform.
“Sender”: the User placing an Order for shipment services.
“Recipient”: the person indicated as recipient of the Shipment.
“Carrier”: the third-party company performing the physical carriage (e.g., DHL Express, FedEx), subject to its own terms.
“Order”: the Sender’s booking request submitted through the platform.
“Services”: the intermediary/booking/support and, where applicable, customs-related services described herein.
“Carrier Terms”: the Carrier’s terms governing carriage, including liability limits, prohibited items and claims procedures.
“Prohibited/Restricted Items”: items prohibited or restricted by law, customs/export rules and/or Carrier Terms.
“Clickwrap Acceptance”: active acceptance by ticking a checkbox prior to payment.

3. Scope of Services – CourierApp’s Role

CourierApp provides a digital booking and routing service, acting as an intermediary between the Sender and the Carrier.

CourierApp is not the seller of the shipped goods and does not acquire ownership or possession of the shipment contents. The Sender remains responsible for the contents and the accuracy and legality of all shipment declarations, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.

Physical carriage is performed by the Carrier and is governed by the Carrier Terms and applicable international carriage rules, as applicable.

4. Contract Formation – Booking Process

The User enters shipment details (e.g., dimensions, weight, contents, value, sender/recipient data, destination country) and receives available service/price options. Final charges may be affected by discrepancies between declared and actual weight/dimensions, Carrier surcharges, customs charges or adjustments due to inaccurate information.

The contract is concluded when the Sender completes the Order and payment successfully, after Clickwrap Acceptance of these Terms.

After completion, the Sender receives an order confirmation and instructions (e.g., shipping label and handover instructions).

5. Prices – Payment – Invoicing

Payment is made online via a payment service provider (Stripe or other). CourierAPP does not store full card numbers or CVC. Stripe stores the payment method; CourierAPP retains only payment references and masked details, for payment and, when expressly authorised, section 5.1.

Prices are displayed before placing an Order. Additional charges arising from discrepancies, service changes, special handling, customs procedures or Carrier charges may be charged to the Sender where lawfully incurred and attributable to the Sender’s information/actions/omissions and/or Carrier Terms.

CourierApp issues the relevant tax documents as required by applicable tax laws.

5.1 Explicit authorisation for additional carrier charges — new orders

For new card-paid orders, the payer actively gives separate express authorisation through an unticked field at payment for Stripe to store the payment method and for later off-session charges to that card, solely for this shipment and its linked return. A hotel, partner or other third party cannot consent on the payer’s behalf. Having a saved card is not consent.

This authorisation covers only lawful amounts payable by the sender under these terms: (a) actual/volumetric weight or dimension adjustments, (b) return carriage following refused or unsuccessful delivery, (c) import taxes, customs duties and clearance fees not paid by the liable recipient and billed to CourierAPP, and (d) documented carrier charges for special handling/packaging, address corrections, storage or redelivery. It excludes unrelated purchases, unspecified penalties, costs caused by CourierAPP’s fault and amounts already paid.

Charges are occasional, not a subscription, and may occur only after the carrier finalises a relevant charge, within 12 months of the original payment. The amount is the documented additional carrier/authority cost attributable to the shipment, plus only legally applicable VAT, less amounts already collected or credited. This authorisation does not permit an arbitrary administration fee.

Before each charge, we email its reason, itemised amount, evidence or relevant extract, shipment reference and planned charge date. No charge is made sooner than 48 hours after successful dispatch of that notice; a delivery failure blocks automatic collection. If the customer sends a question or objection to info@courierapp.gr, automatic collection is suspended until the matter is clarified. Silence does not grant a new or broader authorisation. Later carrier credits are refunded or offset without double collection.

The payer may withdraw permission for future charges at info@courierapp.gr. Withdrawal does not cancel a lawful debt; we instead send a payment link. A secure payment link is also used if bank authentication is required or the card is declined. Consumer rights and payment dispute rights remain unaffected. Earlier orders retain their actually accepted terms and permission; this clause is not retroactive.

6. Right of Withdrawal (Distance Contract)

Where the Sender is a consumer, they have the right to withdraw within fourteen (14) calendar days from contract conclusion, subject to applicable distance selling rules.

If the Sender expressly requests performance to begin before the withdrawal period ends and the Services are partially performed by the time of withdrawal, the Sender may be required to pay a proportionate amount for services already provided, as required by mandatory law.

If the Services are fully performed within the withdrawal period following the Sender’s express request and acknowledgment that the right of withdrawal is lost upon full performance, then the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised after full performance.

To exercise withdrawal, the Sender must send a clear statement to info@courierapp.gr, including at least the Order reference and contact details.

7. Sender’s Declaration & Liability

By placing an Order, the Sender declares, warrants and undertakes the following, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights:

7.1 Accuracy of information

The Sender declares that all information provided through the platform or to CourierApp/Carrier (including contents description, weight, dimensions, value, HS code where required, sender/recipient identity and address, contact details) is true, complete and accurate. The Sender acknowledges that inaccurate/incomplete declarations or undervaluation/misdescription may result in delays, additional charges, fines, seizure, return or destruction by authorities and/or the Carrier, without CourierApp being liable for consequences not attributable to CourierApp’s fault.

7.2 Ownership/authority and legality

The Sender confirms they are the owner of the items or duly authorized to ship them, and that shipment, export, import, transit and possession are lawful in the origin, transit (if any) and destination countries. The Sender is responsible for obtaining any required permits/licenses/approvals, unless CourierApp has expressly agreed in writing to provide a specific additional service.

7.3 Prohibited/Restricted/Dangerous items

The Sender undertakes not to include any Prohibited/Restricted Item under applicable law, customs rules and Carrier Terms. Indicatively:
a) explosive, flammable, corrosive, toxic or radioactive substances/materials and generally dangerous goods where prohibited or non-compliant,
b) aerosols, pressurised containers, fuels, solvents, chemicals,
c) batteries (especially lithium) or devices containing them where Carrier packaging/labelling/transport requirements are not met,
d) weapons, ammunition, parts/accessories, and sharp objects where prohibited,
e) narcotics/psychotropic substances, illegal medicines and prohibited substances,
f) cash, cash equivalents, bearer instruments, precious metals/stones and jewellery where prohibited or not properly declared/insured where permitted,
g) counterfeit goods or goods infringing intellectual property rights,
h) perishable, biological, infectious materials, specimens, blood/tissues, live animals, human remains,
i) food/beverages or other products requiring special permits/conditions where not permitted,
j) items subject to export controls/sanctions/dual-use restrictions where legal requirements are not met,
k) refrigerant gases/substances or devices containing them where prohibited or requiring special handling.

This list is indicative. In case of doubt, the Sender must contact CourierApp before shipping.

7.4 Customs – authorisation and representation

For non-EU shipments and/or where customs formalities are required, the Sender authorises CourierApp and/or the Carrier to perform necessary customs actions related to the shipment, including submission of declarations, provision of documents and communications with customs authorities, either as direct or indirect representative where permitted under applicable rules. The Sender acknowledges that authorities may request additional data/documents and undertakes to provide them promptly and accurately.

The Sender accepts that, for operational reasons and depending on Carrier workflows and customs systems, CourierApp or another person determined by the process may appear as exporter, without transfer of ownership or assumption of responsibility for the legality/accuracy of shipment contents, which remains with the Sender. The Sender must provide true information necessary to correctly identify the “exporter” and other customs roles and acknowledges that, depending on the case, the Sender may be required to be shown as exporter or to provide additional authorisations/details.

7.5 Destination duties and taxes

Import duties, taxes (including VAT), clearance fees, handling or storage charges imposed by authorities and/or the Carrier at destination are borne by the Recipient and/or the Sender depending on the selected billing option and do not fall on CourierApp unless expressly agreed otherwise. The Sender must inform the Recipient that such charges may be requested upon or prior to delivery.

7.6 Inspection/hold/return/disposal

CourierApp and/or the Carrier may refuse acceptance, inspect (where permitted), hold, delay, return, hand over to authorities or dispose of a shipment where required/permitted by law, authority order or Carrier Terms (e.g., suspected prohibited contents, missing documents, security risk). Any costs arising from reasons attributable to the Sender’s breach/inaccuracy/omission (e.g., return, storage, fines, surcharges) are borne by the Sender, subject to mandatory law.

7.7 Indemnity (consumer-law compliant limitations)

The Sender must compensate CourierApp for any direct loss and reasonable costs demonstrably suffered by CourierApp as a result of the Sender’s culpable breach of these Terms, in particular inaccurate/incomplete information, shipment of Prohibited/Restricted Items, unlawful shipment or failure to provide required documents/permits, to the extent such loss is not attributable to CourierApp.

This clause does not limit mandatory consumer rights, does not cover remote/consequential losses not in adequate causal connection, and does not apply to the extent it would unlawfully exempt CourierApp from liability for intent or gross negligence or otherwise impose a prohibited/unfair burden on a consumer.

7.8 CourierApp role – liability in relation to Carrier

The Sender acknowledges CourierApp arranges the shipment while carriage is performed by the Carrier. Claims for loss/damage/delay attributable to carriage are subject to Carrier Terms and applicable carriage rules, without prejudice to mandatory law. CourierApp is not liable for Carrier acts/omissions beyond what mandatory law requires or beyond CourierApp’s own fault in the intermediary service.

7.9 Acceptance and record-keeping

By Clickwrap Acceptance and completing the Order, the Sender confirms having read, understood and accepted these Terms. CourierApp records evidence of acceptance (date/time, user/session identifier, IP where permitted, and Terms version).

8. CourierApp Liability – Limitations – Disclaimer

CourierApp is liable towards consumers for proper performance of its own services (platform operation, correct transmission of data, support and invoicing as applicable) under mandatory law.

CourierApp is not liable for delays, loss or damage caused by events beyond its control (e.g., force majeure, actions of customs/airport/security authorities, strikes, extreme weather, war/emergency conditions, third-party system attacks) or caused by the Sender or Recipient.

To the extent permitted, CourierApp’s liability for proven damage resulting from breach of its own contractual duties is limited to the amount paid by the Sender to CourierApp for the specific service, except in cases of intent or gross negligence or where mandatory law provides otherwise.

9. Complaints – Support – Claims Handling

The Sender must report any issue/complaint to info@courierapp.gr without undue delay, stating shipment tracking/order details.

For carriage-related claims, Carrier Terms procedures and time limits apply. CourierApp may assist administratively without assuming additional liability.

10. Personal Data – GDPR

CourierApp processes personal data as data controller for providing the Services, invoicing, support, fraud prevention and legal compliance. Necessary data is shared with Carriers, payment providers and, where required, customs/public authorities, in accordance with the Privacy Policy.

Cookies/trackers are governed by the Cookie Policy. Users are informed of their rights through the Privacy Policy: https://courierapp.gr/en/privacy/ (Cookie Policy: https://courierapp.gr/cookie-policy-eu/).

11. Amendments

CourierApp may amend these Terms for compliance, security, service changes or operational needs. The updated version applies upon publication for new Orders. For already concluded contracts, the version accepted at the time of conclusion applies unless mandatory law requires otherwise.

  • Each new order is governed by the version of the terms published before it is completed and accepted at checkout. Publishing revised terms does not require separate approval from already registered customers; it does not retroactively change earlier contracts or payment authorisations.

12. Governing Law – Jurisdiction – Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Greek law.

Where the User is a consumer, disputes may be brought before competent courts in accordance with consumer protection rules. Consumers may also seek out-of-court dispute resolution through competent ADR bodies where applicable.

13. Clickwrap Acceptance – Evidence and Archiving

Before payment, the User must actively tick the checkbox “I have read and accept the Terms of Use”. Without it, the Order cannot be completed.

CourierApp maintains electronic records of acceptance (Terms version, date/time, order reference and technical identifiers) for evidentiary purposes, in accordance with applicable law and the Privacy Policy.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in force. Failure to enforce a right does not constitute waiver.
